{"abstract":"This descriptive-correlational study investigated the leadership styles of Department of Education (DepEd) school principals in Quezon Province and their relationship with teacher performance and school effectiveness. Educational leadership is a key determinant of quality education, influencing teaching practices, institutional climate, and overall school functioning. Leadership styles, including transformational, transactional, democratic, and instructional, guide principals in decision-making, communication, and teacher motivation. The study employed a quantitative approach to describe existing conditions and examine relationships among variables without manipulation, collecting factual, measurable data in real school settings. Findings indicate that school principals in Quezon Province demonstrate an acceptable level of leadership styles in decision-making, communication, and motivation. Consistent strengths were observed in involving teachers in decision-making, clearly communicating goals, and providing recognition and encouragement. These practices reflect a generally positive and functional approach to school management. Recommendations include strengthening participative and collaborative decision-making by involving teachers more in planning and policy formulation to enhance shared ownership, improve engagement, and lead to more effective school decisions.","abstract_source":"gemini_shortened","authors":["Ritchelda Abadilla"],"date":"2026-08-24","doi":"10.70838/pemj.620107","id":9495,"issue":1,"journal":{"issn":"2822-4353","name":"Psychology and Education: A Multidisciplinary Journal"},"pdf_sha256":"9fd4a1edfecdd83996975df16c23d1a37443b5d06ea44635f1471c126bc887ea","schema":"scimatic-article/1","title":"Leadership Styles of DepEd School Principals in Quezon Province and Their Relationship with Teacher Performance and School Effectiveness","volume":62}
