{"abstract":"This study investigates teachers' perceptions of career progression and promotion within the Department of Education in Kitaotao II District, Division of Bukidnon, examining their demographic profile, access to professional development, and views on career progression and promotion. It also explores the relationship between professional development access and career perceptions, and differences in perceptions based on demographic factors. Using descriptive statistics, Pearson’s Product Moment Correlation, and ANOVA, the study found the teaching workforce is predominantly young (71.8% under 40) and female (82.1%), with most (72.6%) holding Elementary Education degrees. Professional development opportunities are generally accessible (Mean = 4.09), despite logistical and financial barriers. Teachers hold a highly favorable perception of the career progression program (Mean = 4.21), recognizing its merit-based system and administrative support, though career advancement and recognition programs need improvement. A significant positive relationship (r = 0.515, p = 0.000) exists between professional development access and career perceptions. No significant differences in perceptions were observed based on age (F = 0.717, p = 0.544) or sex (F = 0.074, p = 0.941). Recommendations include mentorship for young educators, efforts to promote gender diversity, expanded specialized training, improved career progression support, enhanced professional development accessibility, and strengthened recognition and rewards systems.","abstract_source":"gemini_shortened","authors":["Sheramie Langgamin","Angelina Cacharo"],"date":"2026-08-10","doi":"10.70838/pemj.610303","id":9066,"issue":3,"journal":{"issn":"2822-4353","name":"Psychology and Education: A Multidisciplinary Journal"},"pdf_sha256":"8be5b81bf9a51a27108da440c6742bf5f2c08cdf1d98a4e2fc05dc0f534e5f88","schema":"scimatic-article/1","title":"Teachers Perception on Career Progression and Promotion: A Quantitative Analysis","volume":61}
