{"abstract":"Along with the intent to explore the perspective of military personnel admitted to a military psychiatric facility, this gave the researcher the idea that for patients being institutionalized, there are a series of events affecting health-related quality of life, which could be the result of aggravated adversities and compounding stress. The study presents a summary of variables examined and quantitative analytical techniques to find if ACEs and perceived Stress predicts the QoL. In the context of a descriptive correlational design, data were gathered through individual surveying techniques, guided by the researcher using standardized tests from the World Health Organization (ACE-IQ and QOL-BREF) and the PSS by Dr. Sheldon Cohen. A total of thirty-eight male military personnel of various ranks participated. Data were generated using IBM SPSS Statistics version 25.0. Results showed that among adverse childhood experiences, peer violence and perceived level of stress are predictors of QoL. It also showed that as stress increases, quality of life decreases. The paper concludes with recommendations both by discipline and collectively for improving aid towards mental health in the military setting.","abstract_source":"original","authors":["Michaela Janina Austria","Carmencita Salonga"],"date":"2026-07-21","doi":"10.70838/pemj.600507","id":8591,"issue":5,"journal":{"issn":"2822-4353","name":"Psychology and Education: A Multidisciplinary Journal"},"pdf_sha256":"cc754dc1b1c5efe4793c7eef670d29a8c4a3791003258c5cd88c490509037e5e","schema":"scimatic-article/1","title":"Adverse Childhood Experiences and Perceived Stress as Predictors of Quality of Life Among Military Personnel in a Psychiatric Facility","volume":60}
