{"abstract":"This study investigated the effects of disciplinary practices on the academic performance of senior high school students in Cainta Senior High School during the School Year 2025-2026. A descriptive survey research design was employed, utilizing a researcher-made questionnaire-checklist with 107 teachers and 350 students. The study aimed to determine the extent of effects of disciplinary practices on students’ academic performance concerning interest to learn, learning engagement, and task accomplishment. Findings indicated that teachers viewed disciplinary practices as most effective in enhancing student engagement, motivation, and task completion. Students also recognized improvements in their engagement, interest, and performance, though their perceived impact was slightly lower. Statistical analysis revealed that all p-values were higher than the 0.05 level of significance, indicating no significant relationship between the extent of effects of disciplinary practices and students’ academic performance. It was concluded that while teachers perceive disciplinary practices as highly effective in promoting student engagement, motivation, and task completion, and students acknowledge improvements, there is no significant relationship between these practices and students’ academic performance.","abstract_source":"gemini_shortened","authors":["Jellou Luna"],"date":"2026-04-20","doi":"10.70838/pemj.550503","id":7663,"issue":5,"journal":{"issn":"2822-4353","name":"Psychology and Education: A Multidisciplinary Journal"},"pdf_sha256":"181cb808f03d8bbef47d5e3f9168efd71c8514a23b31680effcb7169952f8216","schema":"scimatic-article/1","title":"Effects of Disciplinary Practices on the Academic Performance of Senior High School Students","volume":55}
