{"abstract":"This study examined the job satisfaction, organizational commitment, work engagement, and passion of non-teaching employees in one of the Higher Education Institutions in Mindanao. Job satisfaction was assessed in terms of work environment, interpersonal relationships, and sense of achievement; organizational commitment in terms of normative, affective, and continuance commitment; and work engagement in terms of vigor, dedication, and absorption. Passion was explored through work affect, work cognition, and work rumination. A descriptive-correlational and causal research design was employed with 152 participants, determined through the Raosoft calculator from the population of non-teaching employees. Data were collected using a structured survey questionnaire and analyzed through descriptive statistics, Pearson correlation, and multiple regression. Findings revealed that employees demonstrated high levels of job satisfaction, organizational commitment, work engagement, and passion. Pearson correlation indicated significant positive relationships between passion and the three variables. Regression analysis identified dedication, continuance commitment, affective commitment, and normative commitment as the strongest predictors of passion. The study highlighted the value of supportive work environments, recognition, and meaningful engagement in sustaining employee passion and commitment. It further emphasized the need for higher education institutions to strengthen human resource practices through leadership training, employee development, and policies promoting both personal growth and institutional success.","abstract_source":"original","authors":["Mary Jean Fatima Lumapas","Edzen Espina"],"date":"2026-03-26","doi":"10.70838/pemj.531007","id":7466,"issue":10,"journal":{"issn":"2822-4353","name":"Psychology and Education: A Multidisciplinary Journal"},"pdf_sha256":"315169dd9a473fa4f162c70521e933724dfe099036c8a3a509f7d0a4b5a7ce9e","schema":"scimatic-article/1","title":"Job Satisfaction, Organizational Commitment, Work Engagement, and Passion Among Non-Teaching Employees in Higher Education Institution","volume":53}
