{"abstract":"Educational outcomes are increasingly shaped by students’ financial conditions and psychological capacity. This study advances the Financial–Psychological Nexus in Education Framework, an algorithmic mediation model explaining how financial capability influences educational outcomes through psychological resilience. Financial capability is operationalized as a multidimensional construct encompassing financial knowledge, responsible financial behavior, and access to financial resources. Psychological resilience is positioned as a central adaptive mechanism through which students regulate stress, maintain self-efficacy, and cope with academic and financial pressures. Educational outcomes include learning engagement, academic persistence, reduced burnout, and educational well-being. The term algorithmic mediation denotes a structured, rule-based flow of relationships. Using a cross-sectional quantitative design, data were collected from 300 higher education students and analyzed using structural equation modeling (SEM). Results indicate that financial capability significantly predicts psychological resilience, which in turn has a strong positive effect on educational outcomes. Mediation analysis reveals that psychological resilience serves as the primary pathway through which financial capability influences educational outcomes, with the indirect effect exceeding the direct relationship. The study reframes financial capability as a psychosocial resource and establishes psychological resilience as a central explanatory mechanism linking financial conditions to educational success. The framework offers practical implications for designing integrated interventions promoting sustainable learning, resilience, and student well-being.","abstract_source":"gemini_shortened","authors":["Christian Anthony Flores"],"date":"2026-03-05","doi":"10.70838/pemj.520906","id":7284,"issue":9,"journal":{"issn":"2822-4353","name":"Psychology and Education: A Multidisciplinary Journal"},"pdf_sha256":"82b38e739ef60f7efb4377f1be1fa97acff8a6a157d56cee4f1eb4afc3becadd","schema":"scimatic-article/1","title":"The Financial–Psychological Nexus in Education Framework: An Algorithmic Mediation Model of Capability, Resilience, and Learning Outcomes","volume":52}
