{"abstract":"This descriptive-correlational study investigated the effects of community engagement on the work performance of 248 public secondary school teachers in Teresa Sub-Office, Division of Rizal, during the School Year 2024-2025, using a total enumeration sampling method. A researcher-made questionnaire checklist gathered data on teachers' perceptions of community engagement (volunteerism, collaboration, communication) and encountered problems. Teachers reported performing community engagement “Often,” with a composite weighted mean of 3.85. Their work performance was rated “very satisfactorily” based on Individual Performance Commitment and Review. The study found no significant difference in the perceived effects of community engagement on work performance across different teacher profile aspects, as indicated by f-values higher than 0.05. Furthermore, there was no significant relationship between the perceived effects of community engagement and the level of teacher work performance. It was concluded that community engagement, through volunteerism, collaboration, or resource generation, does not significantly associate with teachers’ work performance. The study recommended strengthening school-community relationships, increasing student engagement, and enhancing teacher satisfaction and professional development, and encouraging stakeholder participation in school activities.","abstract_source":"gemini_shortened","authors":["Rechelle Mancet"],"date":"2026-02-21","doi":"10.70838/pemj.520507","id":7225,"issue":5,"journal":{"issn":"2822-4353","name":"Psychology and Education: A Multidisciplinary Journal"},"pdf_sha256":"5ce7bf2856e68c575e08171ae1354d52728cb6b6b641630007a88c6b725d8f59","schema":"scimatic-article/1","title":"Community Engagement and Work Performance of Public Secondary School Teachers","volume":52}
