{"abstract":"This study determined the preferred leadership skills of students at the different colleges of MSU-TCTO in terms of communication skills, time-management skills, conceptual skills, commitment, and open-mindedness, as well as significant differences by college. Using a descriptive-quantitative research design, 325 respondents were selected using the sampling technique by Gay (1976), taking 20% of the student population from each of the six (6) colleges across different year levels. An expert-validated researcher-made scale was used to collect data, which were analyzed using mean, average mean, and ANOVA. Findings showed that students from CAS, COED, COF, IOES, IICT, and CIAS obtained a very high preference for student leaders who have good communication skills, open-mindedness, commitment skills, time-management, and conceptual skills, respectively. These skills are highly preferred because students believe good leaders can lead, motivate, inspire, best represent the whole studentry, and achieve greater goals. Thus, aspiring student leaders must enhance their skills according to student preferences and maintain consistent performance to improve the school community.","abstract_source":"gemini_shortened","authors":["Sharalyn Alih","Jeanette Punzalan","Mona Allea Matolo"],"date":"2022-10-18","doi":"10.5281/zenodo.7220599","id":691,"issue":3,"journal":{"issn":"2822-4353","name":"Psychology and Education: A Multidisciplinary Journal"},"pdf_sha256":"34beae3f6b36eed53d2ab4f6d36750b88c2390c6f03320a90c67790df76b93dd","schema":"scimatic-article/1","title":"Preferred Student Leadership Skills in a Public University","volume":5}
