What are professional competencies acquired and possessed by professional librarians, and to what extent have they acquired such competencies along the management areas of Information Resources, Information Services, Information Tools and Technologies, and Information Organizations? What is the level of job satisfaction of the librarians? Is there a significant relationship between personal and professional competencies and job satisfaction? Based on the findings, what training and development program can be proposed for personal enhancement and continuing professional development of the librarians? The study surveyed 20 licensed librarians from five (5) academic libraries in Zamboanga City using a questionnaire checklist. Analysis of the findings reveals that the professional librarian's respondent has very high personal competencies. In contrast, the extent of professional competencies acquired and possessed by the professional librarian's respondent is high. Regarding job satisfaction, the selected academic librarians reported being satisfied with their current jobs.
