{"abstract":"This study investigated servant leadership among 80 school administrators in selected Philippine public and private schools, examining its impact on building strong school communities. Grounded in Greenleaf’s Servant Leadership Theory, Transformational Leadership Theory, and Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs, the research used a descriptive-quantitative design and a researcher-developed survey questionnaire. Findings revealed that administrators consistently and strongly demonstrated all dimensions of servant leadership, including empathy, stewardship, commitment to people's growth, active listening, awareness, and community building. Statistical analysis showed a significant positive relationship between servant leadership practices and the strength of the school community. Educational attainment and length of service significantly influenced servant leadership practices, while age, gender, and school type did not. Administrators faced challenges such as heavy workloads, limited resources, and lack of parental involvement. The study concludes that servant leadership is a viable framework for fostering stronger, more collaborative, and resilient school communities. It recommends that the Department of Education integrate servant leadership into professional standards and training, schools institutionalize continuous professional development, and local governments provide adequate support.","abstract_source":"gemini_shortened","authors":["Kelvin Clores","Decimo Espiritu"],"date":"2025-11-15","doi":"10.70838/pemj.490207","id":6712,"issue":2,"journal":{"issn":"2822-4353","name":"Psychology and Education: A Multidisciplinary Journal"},"pdf_sha256":"611733acf5d684654d3195dc5f7c1482a642ab70157fab4b1f7fbcc4dcaeefdd","schema":"scimatic-article/1","title":"Servant Leadership Among School Administrators: A Model for Building Strong School Communities","volume":49}
