{"abstract":"This study investigated the study behavior and learning achievements of Grade 4 pupils at Malinao Elementary School in the North 1 District of the Division of Gingoog City. The research assessed the level of study behavior, determined learning achievements categorized as outstanding, very satisfactory, satisfactory, reasonably satisfactory, and did not meet expectations, and ascertained the significant relationship between these two factors. The mean distribution was used for study behavior, while frequency and percentage distributions presented learning achievements. Spearman's rank-order correlation (Spearman's rho) assessed the relationship. Overall, respondents rated their study behavior as “High,” though “The child is given sufficient time to study at home regularly” received the lowest mean, described as “Low level.” The majority of respondents rated their learning achievements as “Very Satisfactory,” with very few rated “Outstanding.” Findings revealed a “negligible correlation” between study behavior and pupils’ learning achievements, as indicated by the significant value. Effective study behavior is strongly related to academic performance, with pupils possessing established study behavior performing better academically and in their learning, showing initiative and engagement. Study behavior predicts pupils' learning, reflecting mental readiness, resourcefulness, creative thinking, and a love of learning. Teachers’ instructional strategies and assessment techniques also affect pupils’ learning and manifest competencies, influencing achievements and academic performance.","abstract_source":"gemini_shortened","authors":["Cristy Abugho"],"date":"2025-11-12","doi":"10.70838/pemj.490109","id":6697,"issue":1,"journal":{"issn":"2822-4353","name":"Psychology and Education: A Multidisciplinary Journal"},"pdf_sha256":"c1d1b15cefc88665ed82959371cedd8fbeab5c41b5678c555ac1ac99141af5e0","schema":"scimatic-article/1","title":"Study Behavior and Learning Achievements of Grade 4 Pupils of Malinao Elementary School of North 1 District in the Division of Gingoog City","volume":49}
