{"abstract":"This descriptive study determined the impacts of municipal disaster risk reduction management programs on 100 residents from selected barangays of Quezon, Quezon, using a proportionate random sampling technique. The respondents' profiles showed most were 31-35 years old, with equal percentages of female and male participants, primarily from Brgy. Gumubat and Brgy. Villa Belen. The study revealed that respondents 'Very Much Agree' with the impacts of the municipal disaster risk reduction management office in terms of risk awareness and preparedness (average mean 4.26), community capacity building (average mean 4.23), community awareness and coping skills (average mean 4.32), and rescue activities (average mean 4.23). They 'Agree' on the impacts regarding advocacy for risk reduction (average mean 4.05). The Kruskal-Wallis H-test indicated no significant difference in perceived impacts when respondents were grouped by age, sex, or address. Recommendations included active participation in community-based disaster risk reduction activities, allocation of sufficient resources by Barangay Officials, and further research on long-term impacts.","abstract_source":"gemini_shortened","authors":["John Vic Maraña","Maria Celerina Oreta","Melchor Espiritu","Gil Segui"],"date":"2025-09-19","doi":"10.70838/pemj.470108","id":6414,"issue":1,"journal":{"issn":"2822-4353","name":"Psychology and Education: A Multidisciplinary Journal"},"pdf_sha256":"cbea1532c989d99f59225a54ac57ece2233759922e54f30d0e957f27e97ca468","schema":"scimatic-article/1","title":"The Impacts of Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction Management Programs to the Residents of Selected Barangays of Quezon, Quezon","volume":47}
