{"abstract":"This study investigated the relationship between parental involvement, study habits, and reading readiness among Grade 1 pupils at Can-ayan Integrated School Division of Malaybalay City. Most respondents were female, aged 31-40 years, with a monthly income of 5,001.00-10,000.00. High levels of parental involvement were observed across academic, motivational, social-emotional, technological, and economic support. Learners also demonstrated strong study habits in exam preparation, homework completion, home reading, time management, motivation, and attitude toward learning. Correlation analysis revealed a strong positive and significant relationship between parental involvement, learners’ study habits, and reading readiness, as measured by the Comprehensive Rapid Literacy Assessment (CRLA). These findings underscore the vital role of parental engagement and effective study habits in fostering early literacy development and reading readiness among Grade 1 learners. Recommendations include learners establishing academic goals and routines, teachers encouraging parent-school communication, schools implementing reading intervention programs, and future research exploring the long-term impact of parental involvement strategies and socioeconomic status on reading readiness.","abstract_source":"gemini_shortened","authors":["Renalyn Subang","Ariel Asparin"],"date":"2025-09-19","doi":"10.70838/pemj.470103","id":6402,"issue":1,"journal":{"issn":"2822-4353","name":"Psychology and Education: A Multidisciplinary Journal"},"pdf_sha256":"f8f93e3ec4631a258f4236d85f8a35858d2f2fa7b44b10531a471f924e84a95e","schema":"scimatic-article/1","title":"Parental Involvement, Study Habits, and Grade 1 Learners' Reading Readiness","volume":47}
