{"abstract":"This descriptive correlational study assessed the impact of continuing education on career advancement and job satisfaction among 200 public-school teachers, using purposive sampling. Most respondents were middle-aged women with master's degrees, holding Teacher II positions. Teachers recognized professional progression through skill enhancement, increased duties, wage increments, leadership roles, and accolades. A notable disparity was found in the impact of continuing education on career progression, specifically in skill gain, leadership involvement, and recognition, when categorized by age. Continuing education significantly impacted job satisfaction across work engagement, motivation, receptiveness to change, competence, confidence, self-reported satisfaction, and relationships. However, no substantial difference was found in the impact of continuing education on career progression based on age, sex, position, or highest educational attainment. A significant correlation was observed between continuing education and both career advancement and job satisfaction. The study concluded that continuing education significantly influences career progression and job satisfaction for public-school educators, providing a foundation for a professional development framework. Recommendations included active teacher participation in professional development, student feedback, and administrative policies encouraging continuous professional development.","abstract_source":"gemini_shortened","authors":["Joseph Dagupan","Jay Baylon"],"date":"2025-08-18","doi":"10.70838/pemj.450302","id":6178,"issue":3,"journal":{"issn":"2822-4353","name":"Psychology and Education: A Multidisciplinary Journal"},"pdf_sha256":"afcb2eaaf0db8e1ab2c0a5e9a88944719eda4cbfad6597b9e9a65d21c0e900fe","schema":"scimatic-article/1","title":"Assessing the Impact of Continuing Education on Career Advancement and Job Satisfaction of Public School Teachers: A Foundation for Professional Development Framework","volume":45}
