{"abstract":"This study determined the economic opportunities of natural and man-made tourism assets in Gumaca, Quezon, by profiling respondents' age, sex, and employment status, and assessing opportunities in local business development, infrastructure, and employment. A descriptive research method with a simple sampling design was used, surveying 100 respondents from a selected barangay in Gumaca, Quezon. The majority of respondents were 36-49 years old, with an equal frequency of males and females. Students, unemployed, part-time employed, full-time employed, and retired individuals each represented 20% of the employment status. The study found an average mean of 4.18 (Agree) for employment opportunities, 4.17 (Agree) for infrastructure, and 3.80 (Agree) for local business development, indicating agreement on economic opportunities. Kruskal Wallis H-test results showed no significant difference in perceived economic opportunities when respondents were grouped by age, sex, and employment status. Recommendations include LGU efforts to enhance local businesses through infrastructure, training, and meetings; community support for businesses and promotion of man-made assets; and residents developing businesses by encouraging visits and product trials.","abstract_source":"gemini_shortened","authors":["Patrick Barrios","Maria Celerina Oreta","Melchor Espiritu","Gil Segui"],"date":"2025-07-30","doi":"10.70838/pemj.430803","id":5975,"issue":8,"journal":{"issn":"2822-4353","name":"Psychology and Education: A Multidisciplinary Journal"},"pdf_sha256":"b52136aa18e02dbe0174518b94e996542c01675f014e8f9a7acbf3137be43c65","schema":"scimatic-article/1","title":"Economic Opportunities of Natural and Man-Made Tourism Assets in Gumaca, Quezon","volume":43}
