{"abstract":"This descriptive study investigated the effects of selected teaching strategies on developing Most Essential Learning Competencies in Araling Panlipunan among 100 junior high school students in a private school in Gumaca, Quezon, using quota sampling. The study profiled respondents by age, sex, and grade level (Grades 7-10), and their use of social media for studying past and current events. Most respondents were female, aged 16 or above. The research examined the effects of teaching strategies including film and photographs, journal writing, charts, organizers and maps, role-playing, and perspective thinking. Findings indicated that most respondents agreed on the effects of teaching strategies in Araling Panlipunan across several categories: using videos and photographs (average mean of 4, interpreted as Agree), using charts, maps, and graphic organizers (average mean of 4, interpreted as Agree), role-playing (average mean of 4.12, interpreted as Agree), and perspective thinking (average mean of 4.06, interpreted as Agree). Kruskal Wallis H-Test results showed no significant difference in perceived effects of teaching strategies when respondents were grouped by age and grade level.
