{"abstract":"Digital infographics are prevalent and effective in contemporary educational settings. This study critically examined the design elements, representation of the Islamic halal concept, and informative utility of digital infographics in Islamic education across the Philippines and Indonesia. Employing a comparative mixed-methods research design with an explanatory sequential approach, the study analyzed 20 purposively selected infographics, evaluated by educators, Islamic scholars, and graphic designers. Evaluation used Likert-scale assessments complemented by qualitative feedback, guided by Semiotics, Dual-Coding Theory, and Information Design Theory. Quantitative data, gathered through Likert-scale assessments measuring four dimensions, showed excellent internal consistency (α = 0.923). Qualitative data were collected through open-ended questions and analyzed thematically. Triangulated findings indicated high overall effectiveness in visual clarity, accurate Islamic concepts, cultural appropriateness, and educational usefulness. However, qualitative analyses revealed tensions between simplifying complex theological concepts and doctrinal accuracy, and a necessity for greater cultural localization beyond Arab-centric imagery. Increased educational impact through contextual explanations and multimedia was also highlighted. Filipino respondents emphasized accessibility and inclusivity, while Indonesian participants prioritized doctrinal rigor and theological precision. The research suggests effective halal infographic design requires a harmonious balance between visual clarity, accurate Islamic representation, and cultural relevance. It proposes comprehensive design guidelines emphasizing clean layouts, meaningful iconography, contextual explanations, and cultural sensitivity to optimize educational utility.","abstract_source":"gemini_shortened","authors":["Norihan Usman","Abraham Accad"],"date":"2025-06-21","doi":"10.70838/pemj.401006","id":5623,"issue":10,"journal":{"issn":"2822-4353","name":"Psychology and Education: A Multidisciplinary Journal"},"pdf_sha256":"5b330c2dc694a82b1501fe22c5bdb6e6a0f0769788ddcf2a80b52c77370433f5","schema":"scimatic-article/1","title":"Digital Halal Infographics: A Comparative Analysis of Educational Materials in Indonesia and the Philippines","volume":40}
