{"abstract":"This descriptive-correlational study identified the demographic profile, procrastination levels, and academic grit of 327 selected Psychology and Teacher Education students at Cavite State University Imus Campus during the academic years 2022-2023 and 2023-2024. Non-random quota sampling was used to select students taking board courses. Data were collected using Lay’s Procrastination Scale and Academic Grit Scale, both subjected to reliability testing. Data analysis involved Frequency, Percentage, Mean, Standard Deviation, Chi Square of Independence, Chi Square Goodness of Fit, and Spearman Rho Correlation. Findings revealed no significant relationship between demographic profile, procrastination, and academic grit. However, a significant relationship was found between procrastination and academic grit, suggesting academic grit's crucial role in combating procrastination. The majority of respondents displayed a low level of procrastination and a high level of academic grit. These results indicate that students in board courses tend to be effective in time management, adaptable, confident in academic tasks, and persistent in pursuing long-term goals despite challenges. Based on these findings, guidance program plan modules were proposed to mitigate procrastination and foster academic grit.","abstract_source":"gemini_shortened","authors":["Jervin Quicho","Melissa Joy Lee","Trixie Pardo"],"date":"2025-03-05","doi":"10.70838/pemj.330103","id":4636,"issue":1,"journal":{"issn":"2822-4353","name":"Psychology and Education: A Multidisciplinary Journal"},"pdf_sha256":"0eb361fcde0a811d2e09d86e683628271dc3b0ebbfa678443f9423bd5d11c4bb","schema":"scimatic-article/1","title":"Demographic Profile, Procrastination and Academic Grit of Selected Psychology and Teacher Education Students of Cavite State University Imus Campus","volume":33}
