{"abstract":"This study investigated the relationship between job satisfaction and performance among ninety-eight randomly selected municipal employees in Kitaotao during the two semesters of calendar year 2023. The research addressed the demographic profile of respondents (age, sex, marital status, monthly salary, educational attainment, job description), their job satisfaction level (capability building, promotion opportunities, security of tenure, hiring process, healthy working environment, relationship with co-workers), and their performance level. It also examined the significant relationship between job satisfaction and performance, and differences in performance based on demographic factors. Data were analyzed using frequency counts, percentage distribution, mean, standard deviation, Pearson Product Moment Correlation Coefficient, and Analysis of Variance. The majority of employees were females in their fifties, married, with an average monthly salary, college graduates, and administrative aides. They reported a satisfactory level of job satisfaction and very satisfactory job performances. The study found no significant relationship between job satisfaction and employee performance, nor significant differences in performance when employees were grouped by age, sex, marital status, monthly salary, educational attainment, or job description. This confirms that job satisfaction did not affect the performance of municipal employees, who were generally satisfied and performed well regardless of their demographic characteristics.","abstract_source":"gemini_shortened","authors":["Mariza Babao","Elpedio Lomarda"],"date":"2025-02-28","doi":"10.5281/zenodo.14941910","id":4576,"issue":8,"journal":{"issn":"2822-4353","name":"Psychology and Education: A Multidisciplinary Journal"},"pdf_sha256":"100a6c14b0cc215c7958fad015c19bbd218f041c87e41efaed4dbd2db3bb3724","schema":"scimatic-article/1","title":"The Relationship Between Job Satisfaction and the Performance of the Employees","volume":32}
