{"abstract":"This study determined the impact of cooperative learning strategies on the social development of 40 senior high school learners in a private school in San Narciso, Quezon, using a descriptive method and questionnaires. The respondents were primarily 16-17 years old (68%), male (65%), and equally distributed between Grade 11 and 12 (20% each). Cooperative learning strategies positively impacted social development, with students building interests (mean 4.15) under Interpersonal Competence, becoming motivated to participate (mean 4.1) under Social Competence, and experiencing boosted morale and motivation from teamwork (mean 4.23) under Teamwork Competence. Problems encountered included decision-making taking more time in group selection (mean 4.2), group mates’ intimate relationships affecting member roles (mean 3.88), and teachers' poor development of student competence influencing motivation (mean 3.83) during evaluation. A positive strong relationship (Spearman Rho Coefficient of 0.476) was found between the perceived impact and problems encountered. There was no significant relationship in responses based on age or gender, but a significant relationship existed between Grade 11 and 12 students' responses on the impact of these strategies.","abstract_source":"gemini_shortened","authors":["Christine Joy Iglip","Maria Celerina Oreta","Melchor Espiritu"],"date":"2025-01-08","doi":"10.5281/zenodo.14615306","id":4286,"issue":5,"journal":{"issn":"2822-4353","name":"Psychology and Education: A Multidisciplinary Journal"},"pdf_sha256":"ada1f57592d9e60ff1fce1df50e5f084b4b74dff1741d289be7a1eb0c55876c6","schema":"scimatic-article/1","title":"Impact of Cooperative Learning Strategies in the Social Development of Senior High School Learners in San Narciso, Quezon","volume":30}
