{"abstract":"This study investigated the utilization of innovative teaching strategies in Mathematics and its relationship with academic performance. Employing a descriptive survey and comparative design, data were collected from 154 pupils and 5 Mathematics teachers in Baggao West District using questionnaires and first-quarter grades. Most teacher respondents were male, in their late thirties, married, held M.A. units, and had 1-5 years of experience, with limited seminar attendance. Innovative strategies like small group learning, problem-solving, models/manipulatives, and games were assessed as 'often' utilized by both teachers and pupils. Teacher profiles significantly affected the utilization of Small Group Learning, while sex, marital status, highest educational attainment, and years of teaching were related to Problem-Solving strategy use. Age, sex, highest educational attainment, and years of teaching were significantly related to Models/Manipulatives strategy use, while only age was significant for Games. Pupil academic performance in Mathematics was categorized as 'satisfactory'. The study found no significant relationship between pupils' academic performance and the extent of utilization of innovative teaching strategies in Mathematics.","abstract_source":"gemini_shortened","authors":["Roderick S.
