{"abstract":"This study determined the mechanisms and interventions provided by Municipal Social Welfare and Development Officers (MSWDOs) in the Province of Catanduanes, using data from 11 MSWDOs. Findings indicate that MSWDOs were competent in all professional knowledge and skill competency areas, with scores ranging from 1.50 to 2.49. Furthermore, 9 out of 11 MSWDOs (81.82%) scored between 46-56, indicating a women-friendly attitude and positive beliefs for working with sexually abused children. However, two MSWDOs (18.18%) scored 35-45, suggesting potentially troubling attitudes. There was a high implementation of mechanisms by MSWDOs, with an overall mean of 3.82. The overall mean for interventions provided was 1.44, though a referral system was also specified, directing victims to rape crisis centers, residential care facilities in nearby provinces, and private sectors. Factors hindering implementation included lack of manpower, insufficient funds for interventions, and inadequate support from LGUs and other agencies.
