{"abstract":"This study developed a 42-item contextualized assessment tool based on John Holland's Career Choice Theory (RIASEC) for Grade 9 students at Rizal High School during the 2023-2024 school year. The tool was evaluated by experts, achieving a grand mean of 3.78, interpreted as strongly agreeing on content, relevance, clarity, and coherence. Data was collected from Batch A (fourth grading period, 2022-2023) and Batch B (first grading period, 2023-2024). The prevailing trait among Grade 9 student respondents in both batches was social, accounting for 27.78%, while enterprising was the lowest at 5.83%. Cookery was the most preferred TLE specialization, chosen by 46.67% of respondents, followed by dressmaking at 14.86%. Electrical Installation and Maintenance (EIM) was the least interesting, with 3.47%. A p-value of 0.00 (significance level 0.05) indicated that the social trait, as the highest overall RIASEC trait, affected students' TLE specialization choices. Furthermore, a p-value of 0.00 (significance level 0.05) showed a statistically significant relationship between student-respondents' sex and their TLE specialization results from the assessment tool.","abstract_source":"gemini_shortened","authors":["Maria Cristina Jose"],"date":"2024-09-18","doi":"10.5281/zenodo.13779690","id":3603,"issue":3,"journal":{"issn":"2822-4353","name":"Psychology and Education: A Multidisciplinary Journal"},"pdf_sha256":"98c1c1634111462371dd87ffc75ca66ed6e37e1e1771c6040743df2b3cd4b640","schema":"scimatic-article/1","title":"Contextualized Assessment Tool for Grade 9 Students in Choosing the Technology and Livelihood Education (TLE) Specialization Courses: Inputs for a Proposed Intervention Program","volume":25}
