{"abstract":"This qualitative study explores the lived experiences of 10 COVID-19 survivors aged 18 and up in Tarlac City, focusing on self-care treatments and their capacity for self-care, aligning with Self-Care Nursing Theory. Participants, selected via purposive sampling, had positive COVID-19 or antibody tests. The study found that individuals were most likely to contract COVID-19 from household or family members and experienced a wide range of symptoms. A significant finding was that most participants believed recovery time exceeded the commonly accepted two-week period, with the study suggesting a four-week recuperation period is typically required. Furthermore, 60% of participants reported experiencing COVID-19 stigma, including avoidance and downplaying of their illness. Survivors shared their experiences to inform and motivate the public. The study concludes that the rehabilitation journey for self-care patients in isolation can be challenging and slow for some, recommending a policy for an intervention program to support holistic physical and psychological well-being during recovery.","abstract_source":"gemini_shortened","authors":["Danica Delima"],"date":"2024-06-24","doi":"10.5281/zenodo.12514474","id":3109,"issue":2,"journal":{"issn":"2822-4353","name":"Psychology and Education: A Multidisciplinary Journal"},"pdf_sha256":"54af36c96d392538da2cc6f2929c149d92237c6969b6282eb4af05dfd6878461","schema":"scimatic-article/1","title":"Rising from the Aftermath: A Qualitative Study of COVID-19 Survivors","volume":21}
