{"abstract":"This descriptive study assessed the Taekwondo training program in Alaminos City for the School Year 2022-2023, involving 96 Taekwondo athletes from public and private secondary schools with at least four years of experience. Findings indicated that athletes were moderately satisfied with training on basic movements (kibondongjak) and sparring (kyorugi), but very satisfied with form (poomsae) training. The program was found effective for physical fitness, mental health, and emotional development. Athletes reported very high satisfaction with pre-training and training proper, and very high satisfaction with post-training. Challenges encountered by athletes were rated as high. The study recommends reviewing and revising training for basic movements and sparring, focusing more on physical fitness, mental health, and emotional development, and strengthening pre-training and proper training activities. It also suggests that SDO personnel, coaches, and trainers address athletes' needs and welfare. An innovative training design is proposed based on these findings.","abstract_source":"gemini_shortened","authors":["Leah Angela Viray","Marlon Lipa"],"date":"2024-06-12","doi":"10.5281/zenodo.11584466","id":3038,"issue":8,"journal":{"issn":"2822-4353","name":"Psychology and Education: A Multidisciplinary Journal"},"pdf_sha256":"e872337050d5226018503681e48608f1b4f480c42625ce0569ca5911f7ec17ac","schema":"scimatic-article/1","title":"Assessment of Taekwondo Training Program: Basis for Innovative Training Design","volume":20}
