{"abstract":"The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender (LGBT) community often faces prejudice due to diverse sexual orientations and gender identities. This study investigated the attitude of Saint Mary’s University towards the LGBT community, examining its relationship with individuals’ religiosity and gender role beliefs in a patriarchal, religion-shaped country. Employing a descriptive-comparative-correlational design, a questionnaire was distributed to 300 respondents at Saint Mary's University, including senior high school and college students, faculty, and staff. Data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics, with thematic analysis for qualitative interpretation. Results indicated that respondents held positive attitudes towards the LGBT community, characterized by high religiosity and very low gender role belief. Both religiosity and gender role belief showed a significant relationship: a moderately low negative correlation with religiosity and a high positive correlation with gender role belief. Gender and religious groups exhibited different attitudes, while age and designation showed no significant differences. Other influencing factors included personal opinion, life principles and realizations, environment, the LGBT community itself, socio-cultural norms and traditions, and media.
