{"abstract":"This descriptive-correlational study investigated the correlation between demographic profiles and employment reasons for staying and leaving companies, as well as differences in these reasons. The study analyzed responses from 44 employed individuals, aged 20 and above, who worked or had worked in a school, office/corporate, clinic, or guidance setting. Findings indicated a weak significant relationship between salary range and growth and development, with a Pearson r of 0.33 (p=0.030) for reasons for staying and 0.34 (p=0.026) for reasons for leaving. This led to the rejection of the null hypothesis, inferring a significant relationship between salary range and growth and development for both staying and leaving. Additionally, significant differences were found for growth and development (p=0.045), work-life balance (p=0.008), and boss/superior reasons (p=0.000) for staying and leaving, leading to the rejection of the null hypothesis. Thus, employees' reasons for staying and leaving include growth and development, work-life balance, and boss/superior factors. Recommendations included posting flyers, hosting staff meetings to discuss retention strategies, and posting policies on business websites, with implementation overseen by a trained department or committee.","abstract_source":"gemini_shortened","authors":["Bernadeth Ballesteros-Contreras","Darwin Diola","Francisco Sanchez"],"date":"2024-05-06","doi":"10.5281/zenodo.11117942","id":2884,"issue":6,"journal":{"issn":"2822-4353","name":"Psychology and Education: A Multidisciplinary Journal"},"pdf_sha256":"42f0c848697351ebae0b9bd7e222c35aac13acf273e23daafaaa15d839a919cb","schema":"scimatic-article/1","title":"Employees' Employment Reasons for Staying and Leaving the Companies: A Descriptive-Correlational Study","volume":19}
