{"abstract":"This study investigated the writing composition skills of 138 Grade 10 English as a Second Language (ESL) Filipino Learners at La Paz National High School for S.Y. 2022–2023. It determined their skills in vocabulary, grammar awareness, and organization of words, and explored relationships between learner profiles (sex, preferred reading materials, exposure to writing applications, economic status) and composition skills. Statistical measures included frequency counts, percentage, average weighted means, and Pearson correlation coefficient. Most respondents were male (79 or 57.25%). Preferred reading materials were TV commercials (64 or 46.3%), print dictionaries (82 or 59.42%), and web articles (84 or 60.87%). Most learners (132 or 95.65%) were exposed to Messenger, and 75 or 55.07% had a family income of 10,000-20,000 pesos per month. The learners' overall composition writing skills, across vocabulary, grammar awareness, and organization, had a grand weighted mean of 4.01, described as high.
