{"abstract":"This study determined the readiness of selected public elementary school teachers in Makati, Philippines, for multimedia instruction and examined pupils' interest in it. The research used a descriptive exploratory design with quantitative and qualitative approaches, employing purposive sampling for teacher and pupil respondents. Data were collected through questionnaires, focus group discussions, and interviews, and analyzed using frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-test, one-way ANOVA with Scheffe Post-Hoc Analysis, and Pearson r Coefficient of Correlation. Results indicated that teacher-respondents were mostly ready for multimedia instruction regarding multimedia device use, mastery of Microsoft applications, and computer literacy. They were also ready in internet application and data management, though only slightly ready in advanced computer applications. Pupils showed very high interest in multimedia instruction. The study found no significant relationship between teacher readiness and age, gender, or educational attainment, but a significant relationship with length of service, level of literacy, internet application, and data management. Teachers encountered problems with multimedia instruction. Generally, teachers and students ready for multimedia instruction were also interested in its use. The study proposed that school management procure multimedia devices and that ICT managers adopt the proposed multimedia training design (TechY-Teachers) to develop media technology skills.","abstract_source":"gemini_shortened","authors":["Michelle Mandar"],"date":"2024-04-23","doi":"10.5281/zenodo.11049395","id":2834,"issue":3,"journal":{"issn":"2822-4353","name":"Psychology and Education: A Multidisciplinary Journal"},"pdf_sha256":"af26b2ceff45350324c747f14f5c6e9375023f4baba47033dd0ab8753f23fe52","schema":"scimatic-article/1","title":"Teacher Readiness in Multimedia Instruction: Input Towards a Multimedia Training Design for Public Elementary School Teachers of Makati","volume":19}
