{"abstract":"Digital libraries are crucial in university educational environments as essential components of information infrastructure, developed to safeguard and manage documents and collections. This study aimed to gauge the perception of Valenzuela City Technological College (ValTech) Electronics Technology students regarding the development of a digital library for their department. A total of 150 ValTech EST students enrolled in the academic year 2023-2024 were purposively selected. An adapted and modified survey questionnaire, rated on a 4-point Likert scale, was used, with statistical analysis employing frequency counts, percentages, means, and ANOVA tests at a 0.05 level of significance. Findings revealed a significant difference in students' perception of the efficacy of digital versus physical libraries, with a t-statistics value of 3.2516 (higher than the t-critical value of 1.9679) and a p-value of 0.0013 (lower than 0.05), leading to the rejection of the null hypothesis. The overall assessment of the digital library's development obtained a general weighted mean of 3.43, interpreted as “Strongly Agree.” Furthermore, there was no significant difference in students' assessment of the digital library's establishment concerning quality of information, quality of system, user-friendly interface, accessibility, and usefulness.","abstract_source":"gemini_shortened","authors":["John Kenneth Goyal","Abegail Reago"],"date":"2024-04-20","doi":"10.5281/zenodo.10999779","id":2820,"issue":2,"journal":{"issn":"2822-4353","name":"Psychology and Education: A Multidisciplinary Journal"},"pdf_sha256":"1f07a92fa6726b447ce3fc9e64813f9ebd7bea75859debd8886e9db1102d2cff","schema":"scimatic-article/1","title":"Students’ Perception of The Development of a Digital Library for the Electronics Technology Department: A Case Study at Valenzuela City Technological College","volume":19}
