{"abstract":"This study determined the association of teachers’ involvement, pupils’ mental health, and coping mechanisms among Grade V and VI pupils in selected Public Central Elementary Schools in the Division of Bohol during the School Year 2021-2022. Using a descriptive method, the study involved 947 respondents from 12 schools, selected via stratified sampling. Data analysis utilized percentage formula, weighted mean, Chi-square, and Spearman rank. Teacher profiles showed 15.38% were 31-35 years old, 93.27% female, 74.04% married, 50% had Master’s Degree Units, 56.73% were Teacher 3, 28.85% had 6-10 years of experience, and 43.27% attended 1-2 mental health training sessions. Teachers’ involvement was rated “very high,” pupils’ mental health as “positive mental health,” and pupils’ coping mechanisms as “sometimes.” Significant relationships were found between teachers’ highest educational attainment, length of teaching experience, number of mental health training attended, and their level of involvement. The study concluded that these teacher profile aspects influenced their involvement in pupils’ emotional development, and teachers’ involvement was associated with pupils’ mental health and coping mechanisms. It is recommended that DepEd supervisors, school heads, and teachers monitor and assess teacher involvement in pupils’ mental health.","abstract_source":"gemini_shortened","authors":["Dina Marie Chiong"],"date":"2023-10-27","doi":"10.5281/zenodo.10045796","id":2160,"issue":8,"journal":{"issn":"2822-4353","name":"Psychology and Education: A Multidisciplinary Journal"},"pdf_sha256":"46c818d3e22e6f42c10ba4b64fbe445a8457a215f4700158c4b0c4a9b7079dc5","schema":"scimatic-article/1","title":"Teachers’ Involvement, Pupils’ Mental Health and Coping Mechanisms","volume":14}
