{"abstract":"This descriptive-evaluative study assessed the instructional supervisory competencies of 178 master teachers in the Division of Rizal during the 2022-2023 school year, using a survey checklist and statistical tools including frequency counts, weighted means, percentages, and Pearson r. The study examined the master teachers' profiles (age, gender, civil status, highest educational attainment, instructional supervisory experience) and their supervisory practices across seven domains: content knowledge and pedagogy, learning environment, diversity of learners, curriculum planning, assessment and reporting, community linkages and professional engagement, and personal growth and professional development. Findings revealed that master teachers are highly proficient in curriculum and planning, assessment and reporting, community linkages and professional engagement, and personal growth and professional development skills. A significant correlation was found between the master teachers' self-assessed and teacher-assessed supervisory competencies in learning environment, diversity of learners, and assessment and reporting. However, no significant relationship was found between supervisory competencies and the master teachers' profiles. The majority of master teachers favored an enhanced continuous personal and professional development program. Recommendations include requiring master teachers to complete postgraduate studies, acquire relevant experience, attend professional development activities, and engage in professional learning communities to enhance their instructional leadership and administrative functions.","abstract_source":"gemini_shortened","authors":["Sonny Matias"],"date":"2023-10-13","doi":"10.5281/zenodo.8437399","id":2122,"issue":4,"journal":{"issn":"2822-4353","name":"Psychology and Education: A Multidisciplinary Journal"},"pdf_sha256":"b87784678f1e21c2002f38627b4bb594e80438aa92aa4b969502e708376b3d28","schema":"scimatic-article/1","title":"The Instructional Supervisory Competencies of Master Teachers in the Division of Rizal: Inputs for an Enhanced Professional Development Program","volume":14}
