{"abstract":"This study determined the effectiveness of Project RISE in improving the comprehension skills of 28 Grades 5 and 6 struggling readers at Tuhian Elementary School. A true experimental research design, specifically a pretest-posttest control group design, was utilized. Respondents were divided into control and experimental groups through random sampling. Reading performance was assessed using standardized Phil-IRI passages before (pretest) and after (posttest) the intervention. Data were analyzed using weighted means, Kolmogorov-Smirnov Test for normality, independent t-test, and Lavene’s test for equality of variance. Results showed data were normally distributed and variances were homogeneous before intervention. There was no significant difference between the pretest scores of control and experimental groups. However, a significant difference was found between the posttest scores of the two groups, indicating a marked improvement in the reading performance and comprehension skills of the experimental group.
