{"abstract":"This descriptive correlational study investigated the implementation of the Special Science Elementary School (SSES) Curriculum as a correlate of school performance and instructional leadership from 2013-2018 in the National Capital Region and the School Division of Rizal. A survey questionnaire was administered to 19 SSES School Heads and 228 SSES Teachers. Findings revealed a significant correlation between the extent of SSES curriculum implementation (program components, learning materials/resources, teachers’ learning and development, administrative support) and school performance (access, quality, governance), with all computed values exceeding the t-critical value of 2.306. No significant difference was found between school heads' and teachers' perceptions of instructional leadership concerning curriculum, instruction, and assessment, as t-computed values (1.82, 1.97, 1.20) were less than 2.306. A significant relationship existed between SSES Curriculum implementation and school performance regarding enrolment (r=0.57), drop-out rates (r=0.7), professional development (r=0.31), and project implementation, all exceeding the critical r-value of 0.266. However, an insignificant correlation was observed with NAT results (r=0.09) and funding sources (r=0.25), and with school performance in terms of learning resources. The correlation between SSES implementation and instructional leadership (curriculum, instruction, assessment) was significant, with computed r-values of 0.68, 0.35, and 0.52, respectively, all exceeding 0.266.","abstract_source":"gemini_shortened","authors":["Glofel Prado","Herculano Sabas"],"date":"2023-09-18","doi":"10.5281/zenodo.8354066","id":1993,"issue":6,"journal":{"issn":"2822-4353","name":"Psychology and Education: A Multidisciplinary Journal"},"pdf_sha256":"bc3b3c3d6047af8617e86f9b04eb6c9d8d93216eb41bf5cc6c65c31e9098d1cc","schema":"scimatic-article/1","title":"Implementation of Special Science Elementary School Curriculum as Correlate Of School Performance and Instructional Leadership: Basis for Continuous Improvement Plan","volume":13}
