{"abstract":"This quantitative non-experimental study investigated the relationship between a constructivist learning environment and communication competence, and language learning motivation among 262 college students at the University of Mindanao during the 2021-2022 school year. Using stratified random sampling, data were collected via Google Forms. The results indicated that respondents exhibited high levels of reading motivation, classroom climate, self-directed learning readiness, task motivation, constructivist learning environment, and communication competence. A significant relationship was found among constructivist learning environment, communication competence, and language learning motivation. Furthermore, language learning motivation partially mediated the relationship between a constructivist learning environment and communication competence. The study suggests that students be given opportunities to express opinions through experience and engage in oral exercises to improve communication skills.
