This phenomenon, though rampant among Filipino senior high school graduates, receives minimal attention. Padios et al. (2021) found that over half of K-12 completers reported jobs unrelated to their academic strand. This study used a phenomenological method with purposive sampling and face-to-face interviews to explore the lived job application experiences of senior high school graduates. Data analysis employed a Modified Van Kaam Technique-based Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA), with time bracketing and foreseen responses ensuring accuracy, validity, and reliability. The research yielded three themes: Disconnecting Lines, Debugging Negativities, and Directing to Possibilities. The K-12 curriculum contributes to graduates' struggles in finding strand-related jobs, as they face discrimination, stereotyping, and limited opportunities.
