{"abstract":"This descriptive-correlational study assessed the digital competence of Bachelor of Physical Education (BPEd) students at Pangasinan State University (PSU), Bayambang campus, focusing on internet connectivity and opportunity, information and communication facility, and digital content. Data were collected via Google Forms. The majority of students were females aged 21 and below, from families with a farmer father and stay-at-home mother, and a monthly income of 10,000 or less. They primarily used cell phones and pocket wifi for internet access. Students demonstrated high competence in information and communication facility, and competence in internet connectivity and opportunity, and digital content. Significant differences in digital competence were found concerning family monthly income and available gadgets, but not for sex, age, parent's occupation, or internet connectivity. A significant relationship existed between digital competence (across all three areas) and the profile variables of sex, age, family monthly income, and available gadget. No significant relationships were found between digital competence and parents' occupation or internet connection. It is recommended that students acquire necessary gadgets, focus on studies to enhance competence in internet connectivity, opportunity, and digital content, budget needs according to family income, and recognize the importance of their profile variables for improving digital proficiency.","abstract_source":"gemini_shortened","authors":["Jeniffer Anne Caguioa","Marlon Lipa"],"date":"2023-07-10","doi":"10.5281/zenodo.8132211","id":1608,"issue":6,"journal":{"issn":"2822-4353","name":"Psychology and Education: A Multidisciplinary Journal"},"pdf_sha256":"f5a5d125e916a49a71d3f3689a6744c3b2d9ce45210546e062fb99e551ccf849","schema":"scimatic-article/1","title":"Digital Competence of Bachelor of Physical Education Students","volume":10}
