{"abstract":"This study determined factors affecting the Science performance of 311 grade six pupils in Sta. Cruz Elementary School, selected via simple random sampling. A descriptive survey design, using a researcher-made questionnaire-checklist, gathered data on learning environment, study habits, and peer influence. Documentary analysis determined academic performance from pupils’ average Science grades. Most respondents were male, from families with over three children and monthly incomes below ₱10,000, and whose parents did not finish college. Learning environment, study habits, and peer influence often affected academic performance. Sex, monthly family income, and mother’s educational attainment significantly influenced the extent of these factors, while sibling position and mother’s educational attainment were not significant. Pupils achieved Satisfactory performance in Science. The study found a significant correlation between the perceived extent of factors and academic performance, concluding that the perceived extent of learning environment, study habits, and peer influence differed significantly when pupils were grouped by sex, monthly family income, and mother’s educational attainment. Academic performance was significantly associated with learning environment, study habits, and peer influence.","abstract_source":"gemini_shortened","authors":["Richez Villaran"],"date":"2023-06-22","doi":"10.5281/zenodo.8067849","id":1507,"issue":10,"journal":{"issn":"2822-4353","name":"Psychology and Education: A Multidisciplinary Journal"},"pdf_sha256":"0289a58143003f263792cd365b974fe881444564dff0351749fa78f14cb34c67","schema":"scimatic-article/1","title":"Factors Affecting the Performance in Science of Grade Six Pupils in Sta.
