{"abstract":"This qualitative descriptive study in San Andres District, Division of Quezon, aimed to determine the integration of Gender and Development (GAD) concepts in developing science instructional materials. The study evaluated the level and quality of GAD concepts in terms of sex and gender, gender equality, gender sensitivity, and gender language, and proposed an intervention program. A questionnaire, validated by GAD coordinators, Master teachers, and science teachers, was used. The evaluation covered 125 instructional resources, including 25 textbooks, 20 modules, 15 magazines, 17 pamphlets, 8 journals, and 26 posters. When grouped by quality, the integration of gender concepts was found to be “Fair” for most materials, except for modules, which were rated “good.” Grouped by level, integration was “least integrated” for most materials, with modules being “moderately integrated.” The study concluded that the San Andres District needs to improve the quality and degree of GAD concept integration to move from a “least integrated” to a “most integrated” state.
