{"abstract":"This study investigated the implications of team-based learning strategies on the attitude of freshmen students in Mathematics. The three sample groups showed a remarkable increase in post-test mean scores in the attitude scale, with an overall post-test mean of 141.67 compared to an initial overall mean of 115.82. Pre-test mean scores for the TAI, STAD, and control groups were 116.40, 115.07, and 116.00, respectively, and were comparable (F=0.0875, p=0.9164). The STAD cooperative learning strategy group showed a mean difference of 27.66 in achievement (t=11.4629, p=0.0000) and 34.40 in attitude (t=11.7251, p=0.0000), indicating its effectiveness. The control group, taught by traditional methods, also showed an improvement in attitude with a mean difference of 14.07 (t=5.4423, p=0.0000). Post-test mean scores for attitude were 145.47 (TAI), 149.47 (STAD), and 130.07 (control). Statistical analysis of these post-test scores (F=76.4688, p=0.0000) indicated that the cooperative learning strategies TAI and STAD are more effective in improving students' attitudes toward Mathematics than the traditional method.","abstract_source":"gemini_shortened","authors":["Freddie Patricio"],"date":"2023-05-28","doi":"10.5281/zenodo.7978923","id":1324,"issue":3,"journal":{"issn":"2822-4353","name":"Psychology and Education: A Multidisciplinary Journal"},"pdf_sha256":"d3bdfb8f39f5c703bf25cc91ff9fb001f03987533a3926cec3a9c960f8b3fdbf","schema":"scimatic-article/1","title":"Implications of Team - Based Learning Strategies on the Attitude of Freshmen Students in Mathematics in a State University in Cagayan Valley, Philippines","volume":9}
