{"abstract":"The COVID-19 pandemic significantly impacted early childhood education, leading to learning setbacks and limited social experiences for kindergarten learners over two school years. Teachers faced degraded working conditions, job uncertainty, and mental health issues, while parents also experienced adverse effects. This qualitative study investigated kindergarten implementation during the pandemic, its impact on pupils' access to quality early childhood education, and coping mechanisms. Data were collected through personal interviews with 25 kindergarten teachers, pupils, and parents in Milagros East District, using purposive random sampling, and interpreted via deductive thematic analysis. Findings indicated that kindergarten pupils did not master essential learning competencies due to insufficient parental support and guidance, unfavorable learning environments, and lack of motivation. Despite limited resources and heavy workloads, teachers created learning opportunities, including establishing routines and conducting home visitations to address learning needs.
