Abstract
This study aimed to enhance the level of mastery among Grade 12 students in the subject Pagsulat sa Filipino sa Piling Larang through the use of simplified learning activity sheets (LAS). A pre-experimental one-group pre-test–post-test design was employed to assess the effectiveness of the intervention. Both qualitative and quantitative methods were utilized, with data collected through pre-tests and post-tests. The research was conducted during the 14th week of the second quarter of the School Year 2021–2022. Data were analyzed using a paired t-test for the quantitative component and open and axial coding for the qualitative data. The results showed a notable improvement in students' mastery levels—from very limited or no mastery to proficient—based on their pre-test and post-test scores. A statistically significant difference between the two sets of scores further confirmed the effectiveness of the Simplified LAS. Additionally, student feedback indicated that the LAS was learner-friendly, engaging, and easy to follow, with clear instructions. The inclusion of rubrics and answer keys also facilitated easier assessment of student outputs.
