Personal and Professional Qualities of Teachers and their Performance: Basis for Professional Development Plan 

This study aimed to assess teachers' personal and professional qualities, their performance, and the relationships among these factors. Data were collected to address research questions focusing on personal qualities—such as passion, patience, values and attitudes, enthusiasm, and communication skills—and professional qualities, including mastery of subject matter, understanding of learner diversity, and teaching principles and methods. Performance was assessed through the Individual Performance Commitment and Review Form (IPCRF) ratings for the School Year 2023-2024. The findings revealed that teachers generally exhibited strong personal qualities, particularly passion and patience, with high levels of enthusiasm and effective communication skills. However, areas such as managing classroom interruptions and adapting teaching methods showed potential for improvement. In terms of professional qualities, teachers demonstrated a solid grasp of their subject matter and sensitivity to diverse learners while employing various teaching methods. Most teachers received "very satisfactory" ratings on the IPCRF scale, with many categorized as "outstanding." Despite these positive indicators, the study found no significant relationships between personal and professional qualities and teacher performance, suggesting that other unexamined factors may influence performance outcomes.
